This report was submitted by the due date to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Michael Fakhri in response to his call for submissions focusing on Human Rights and the UN Food Systems Summit. It was cc’d to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Francisco Cali Tzay as well as Myrna Cunningham, Indigenous representative on the Advisory Committee for the Food Summit.
Please feel free to share it with others who might be interested. Due to the focus of his request for input, it focuses on the responses addressing the 1st proposed commitment from Indigenous Peoples addressing upholding and implementing the rights of Indigenous Peoples required for the resiliency of our food systems. We are currently working on the full report covering participants’ input on all 5 proposed commitment areas for our final report on the Consultation. We hope to have it prepared by early next week, and will request for it to be translated in all 5 languages.
