In 2022, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation Mr. Pedro Arrojo Agudo will focus one of his two thematic reports on the theme of the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation of indigenous peoples. In preparation for this study the IITC will host a “brainstorming consultation” for the Special Rapporteur with Indigenous Peoples during COP 26 on the possible scope and content of the report, including Indigenous Peoples knowledge and practices for water management, protection and conservation in the climate crisis.
