We are pleased to invite you to the SBI-7 side event “Delivering the KMGBF Through Rights-Based Implementation: Territories, Partnerships and Finance,” taking place on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, from 18:15 – 19:30, in Room CR-9 – Africa, 2nd Floor, United Nations Office at Nairobi.

The event will examine how rights-based approaches can be translated into practical arrangements for implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). Using the Core Human Rights Principles for Private Conservation Organizations and Funders as a practical reference, the discussion will focus on Indigenous-led, community-led and rights holder-led conservation, equitable partnerships and co-management, rights-based finance, and accountability.

Participants may join in person or remotely. Interpretation will be available in English, French and Spanish. Participants who require interpretation are kindly requested to bring their own electronic devices and headsets.
