Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform Survey, Activity 9, July 2020

The Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) established the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP), an inclusive and trusted space bringing together people and their knowledge, as well as positive values, to build a climate-resilient world for all.  The initial two-year workplan of the LCIPP, which has 12 activities and was proposed by the Facilitative Working Group (FWG) of the LCIPP. These activities facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences, build capacity for engagement, and weave diverse knowledge systems into climate change policies and actions.

The Facilitative Working Group (FWG) of the LCIPP is requesting Indigenous Peoples complete a short survey as part of LCIPP Activity 9: “Climate change policies and actions: Mapping existing policies, actions and communications, including Nationally Determined Contributions, national adaptation plans and other relevant policies and communications under the Convention, with respect to whether and how they incorporate consideration and engagement of indigenous peoples and local communities.”

The outcomes of the survey will inform the work of the FWG, including a technical paper and recommendations by the FWG to Parties.
