The San Xavier District, Tohono O’odham Nation and the International Indian Treaty Council (IITC), in conjunction with the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, invite you to attend a Human Rights hearing to gather testimonies and documentation addressing Human Rights violations experienced by members of Indigenous Peoples, Tribal Nations and communities divided by the US/Mexico international border, as well from Indigenous migrants and asylum-seekers. Information provided will be included in the EMRIP’s 2019 Study which will be presented in September 2019, along with the EMRIP’s conclusions and recommendations, to the Human Rights Council.
The hearing will be attended by Attorney Kristen Carpenter, expert member of the EMRIP from the North America Region.
El Distrito San Xavier, la Nación Tohono O’odham y el Consejo Internacional de Tratados Indios (CITI), en conjunto con el Mecanismo de Expertos de las Naciones Unidas le invita a que asista a una Audiencia de Derechos Humanos para recopilar testimonios y documentación abordando violaciones de Derechos Humanos experimentadas por miembros de Pueblos Indígenas, Naciones Tribales y comunidades divididas por la frontera internacional de Estados Unidos/México, al igual que migrantes y solicitantes de asilo indígenas. La información provista será incluida en el estudio del 2019 del MEDPI, el cual será presentado en septiembre de 2019, junto con las conclusiones y recomendaciones del MEDPI al Consejo de Derechos Humanos.
A dicha audiencia asistirá la Abogada Kristen Carpenter, miembro experta del MEDPI de la Región de América del Norte.
